Universal Audio UAFX Dream '65

The Universal Audio UAFX Dream ’65 Reverb Amplifier recreates the sound and feel of a classic mid-1960s American tube combo amp in a compact pedal format. Powered by Universal Audio’s dual-engine processing and UAD modelling technology, it delivers everything from sparkling, articulate cleans to warm, natural-sounding breakup, making it ideal for vintage-inspired rock, blues, indie and alternative tones. The amp model is complemented by authentic spring reverb and tube-style vibrato, while built-in speaker cabinet and microphone simulations capture the sound of a professionally miked amplifier. Three speaker options; a Celestion Greenback, an Oxford speaker and an Electro-Voice EVM12L. These offer distinct tonal characteristics, ranging from smooth, open mids to a tighter low end and more pronounced high frequencies.

The Dream ’65 features dedicated Volume, Output, Bass, Treble and Reverb controls, alongside selectable amp modifications and boost options for expanding its tonal range. The Stock setting provides clean boost, while Lead and D-Tex modes introduce additional gain and altered amp voicings inspired by popular vintage modifications. Its stereo inputs and outputs, dual footswitches and USB-C connectivity make it suitable for both pedalboard and recording setups, including direct connection to an audio interface or PA without a traditional amplifier. The UAFX Control app provides access to presets, additional speaker cabinet options and customisation features, while the pedal’s cabinet simulation can be bypassed when running into a real guitar amp and cabinet. It requires an isolated 9V DC centre-negative power supply rated for at least 400 mA, sold separately.
