Universal Audio Brigade Chorus & Vibrato

The Universal Audio UAFX Brigade Chorus & Vibrato is a modulation pedal inspired by the legendary 1976 BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, delivering rich, vintage-style chorus and expressive vibrato in a compact enclosure. Its bucket-brigade-inspired sound produces everything from subtle shimmer and added stereo-like depth to thick, swirling modulation and seasick pitch variations. The chorus is ideal for adding dimension to clean guitar tones, bass lines and atmospheric textures, while the vibrato offers a more pronounced, wavering character suited to experimental sounds and expressive playing. An emulation of the original CE-1's analogue preamp also adds warmth, harmonic richness and extra punch to your signal.

The Brigade features dedicated Rate, Depth and Level controls, alongside switches for selecting chorus or vibrato, engaging the preamp emulation and choosing between true and buffered bypass. This allows players to shape the modulation intensity and overall output while retaining flexibility in how the pedal interacts with the rest of their signal chain. A top-mounted connection layout helps integrate it neatly into a pedalboard, while the USB-C port enables firmware updates via computer. Powered by an isolated 9V DC, centre-negative supply rated for at least 250 mA (sold separately), the Brigade is a versatile choice for guitarists seeking classic analogue-inspired modulation with modern convenience.
