The Patina PPB-3 FRD is a Precision-style bass built around a lightweight paulownia body and a quarter-sawn roasted maple neck with a satin finish. The Modern C neck profile, 12" radius, 34" scale and 21 jumbo stainless steel frets give it a comfortable, smooth feel across the fingerboard, while the rosewood fingerboard and luminescent side dots add both character and practicality. A bone nut, lightweight chrome tuners and a high-mass four-saddle bridge provide a solid foundation for reliable tuning, sustain and intonation.
For tone, the PPB-3 FRD uses a custom handwound Alnico V split-coil pickup, delivering the punchy low end, focused mids and articulate attack that make the Precision-style bass so versatile. The simple 1-volume, 1-master tone control layout keeps the sound direct and responsive, while the thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the paulownia body to resonate naturally. Finished in Fiesta Red with chrome hardware, the PPB-3 FRD combines classic P-style character with lightweight construction and modern upgrades such as roasted maple and stainless steel frets.
